About Me

Hi! I am glad that you are here. Let me introduce myself a little bit!

My name is Seavmeng Samoeurth (preferred to be called "Meng"). My nickname is Chick andI nickname myself so because it reminds me of my dad. When he phone calls me, he calls me "Luk Kai" a Thai word and it means "chick". 

I was born in Beanteay Meanchey province, graduated high school there and came to Phnom Penh to pursue MS in Computer Science with support from Harpswell Foundation in 2013. One year later, I found out a fact that I actually am not interested in that major so I took an entrance exam at Department of Media and Communication, RUPP. And four years later, I graduated from DMC with MA in Media Management.

The reason why I switched to media was because I was interested in documenting of what I think is important to share with people. Consequently, I did my summer internship at the Cambodia Daily Newspaper in 2016 (before it was shut down in 2017). One year later, I was a Communication and Media intern at Transparency International Cambodia and ... one year later, I found a place to allocate most of my time to do one volunteer work at Politikoffee with a full-time job as Communication Officer at SILAKA (CLOSE-GAP Project). 

All these experiences, got me who I AM today!
